Time Magazine Preemptively Names Emeril Lagasse as 2020 Person of The Year

Time Magazine got it right this time. Ladies and gentleman, Emeril Lagasse is your 2020 Person of The Year.

Regarding the choice – which, let’s admit, we all saw coming – Time Editor in Chief Edward Felsenthal said “2019 is still up in the air, but Emeril’s got 2020 on lock.” He went on: “We foresee Emeril kicking it up so many notches in 2020 that the whole competition will be moot.”

Bam! We couldn’t agree more.

Emeril Lagasse proudly displays his Power AirFryer 360 on the 2020 cover of Time Magazine.

Time Magazine’s Person of The Year is awarded to “the person, group, idea, or object that ‘for better or for worse… has done the most to influence the events of the year.’

With that in mind, Felsenthal spoke admiringly of the New Orleans celebrity chef: “Here’s a man who, from 1997 to 2010, hosted a cooking show with a live audience and a house band. And then in 2011 sold the rights to his own name to Martha Stewart. Basically, this thing is a done deal. Congrats Big E!”

We couldn’t be prouder. Way to go Emeril!
